It is a great time to live in Farmers Branch! From the fresh air of redevelopment that starts in our DART Light Rail Station Area and moves up Valley View to the Four Corners, to the exploding potential of our West Side, the changing image of our City and the revitalization buzz that permeates our neighborhoods makes it a great time to be in Farmers Branch.

GROWTH

One of the greatest things about the vitality in Farmers Branch is that everyone can get in on it. In our neighborhoods, our current and future residents can now take advantage of incentive programs that encourage the buying of new homes and the renovation of existing ones. Mixed-use and multi-family developments are, quite literally, springing up in all manner of places, redefining residential living in the 21st century, and helping our landlocked City to grow vertically. Even street signs along our major thoroughfares are starting to take on more of a "hometown" feel.

Opportunities abound in our business community. The Four Corners Plan, recently adopted by the City Council, will open many doors within the scope of the redevelopment of that landmark retail area at Josey and Valley View. The West Side of the City is primed for expansion with a constantly growing business and resident population.

Still, the single project that will help shape our growth in the coming years, unlike any other, is the DART Light Rail Station development. This long-awaited endeavor now moves from the drawing board to the realm of reality. As DART has begun work on the rail line that will eventually move passengers from downtown Dallas to Farmers Branch and points north, so too will work soon begin on the Station Area that will feature a mix of uses with restaurant, retail and office on the ground floors and primarily residential on upper floors - all in a pedestrian-friendly environment, in proximity to the Light Rail Station and in the shadow of the great flag at Liberty Plaza.
